Pennoni Associates is currently seeking a Welding Inspector with experience consistent, but not limited to:

  • Working in the field at construction sites in the Delaware Valley as a quality assurance representative inspecting structural steel building construction
  • Performing visual and nondestructive testing
  • Monitoring structural steel erection, including placement, welding, bolting, and decking
  • Reviewing drawings and specifications
  • Coordinating with contractors, engineers, owners, and our project team
  • Preparing daily written field reports, which may include photographs and sketches

Job Requirements:

  • High School Diploma

  • Proficient in Windows and Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, and Word)

Certified Welding Inspector

  • Must have the following certifications: AWS-CWI
  • NDT Level II in RT (film interpretation), PT, MT, NACE and UT methods highly desirable; ICC Bolting certification is desirable
  • Experience with building and bridge inspections and familiarity with AWS Codes D1.1 and D1.5 is a must
  • Must be capable of rigorous physical activity
  • Must pass drug test, background check and must have a satisfactory driving record in accordance with the Company’s driving (MVR) policy

QC Certified Welding Inspector

  1. Advisement, coordination, and interaction with all departments to accomplish all objectives.
  2. Assuring provisions for the use of checklists, process sheets, travelers, and drawings.
  3. Assure that he/ she is present when inspections are required. This includes in-house areas as well as vendor facilities.
  4. The authority to accept, reject, and to place on hold any item or operation where conformance to drawing, specification, contract and/or purchase order is not being accomplished.
  5. Review all parts and/or equipment, as necessary, prior to shipment.
  6. 100% final inspection.
  7. Verification of operations set up and/or fit up.
  8. In-process inspection of all metal prep/saw, weld shop/ machine shop, and assembly operations.
  9. Visual and dimensional inspection of all weldments prior to blast, paint, heat treat, etc.
  10. Verifying and accepting MTRs.
  11. Perform NDE and/or dimensional inspection as needed.
  12. Knowledge of PQRs, WPSs, and WPQs.
  13. Knowledge of calibration and calibration records of tools and equipment.
  14. Adhere and support all company rules and policies.
  15. Must follow and enforce all safety and environmental policies and programs; must be able to use personal safety devices as required by company policy; report any activities that could be detrimental to the safety and/or the loss of productivity; report any injuries when they occur.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • AWS certification, preferably CWI.
  • Weld and weld inspection experience and knowledge required.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills, must be able to read, write, and speak English.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office.

Fluorescent Penetrant Inspector - Level 2

Key Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Process parts per applicable Specification (interprets indications for accept/reject criteria).
  • Process and inspect standard known defect panels (TAM PANELS); and other process checks.
  • Completes fluorescent penetrant inspection and moves parts according to work instructions.
  • Correctly documents all calibration/production data (i.e. work instructions, identification tags, inspection sheet for jobs in progress, daily calibration and data entry of labor transactions.)
  • Notify management (RL lll, QA Representative, Supervisor) of machine malfunction or nonconforming part.
  • Orders materials and chemicals as needed.
  • Writes and types procedures and technique sheets as needed.
  • Assigns NCT’s for non-conforming parts as needed.
  • Participates in all Quality ( NADCAP) audits regarding FPI.
  • Maintains clean machines and work area.
  • Performs all duties safely and according to the Voss Handbook.

Skills & Qualifications:

Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for Quality System Maintenance.
  • Review customer purchase orders for quality requirements and manage system changes to ensure product conformance.
  • Analyze and interpret blueprints, models, specifications, and other materials to determine requirements and implement standards for manufacturing, testing and inspection.

Legacy Field Services is Looking for a CWI inspector in East Texas and here are the job requirements the client is requesting. CWI for PPL inspection?

Contractor will be responsible for weld map, so inspector will simply pass on MTR’s to client and fill out a daily line report.

We have awarded construction on the new PPL’s kicking off next week. These are pretty simple short lays but looks like they will run for 2-3 month.

Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities
Issues, and controls Welding Procedures, Welding Specifications, Process Control Documents, and all other technical welding documents.
Must be a Level II Certified Welding Inspector (CWI), ASNT SNT-TC-1A, or experienced to be certified by McDermott
Must perform visual inspection of welds and coordinate Radiographic, UT and PT/MT testing of welds.
Provide support to discipline Field Engineers (piping, component, structural, etc.) with the development of Welding Documentation (Weld Data Records and Weld Maps) for their respective construction work packages
Daily activities include field inspection, weld mapping, coaching of welders, welder qualification, quality surveillances, and disposition support of welding issues and non-conformances

Basic Qualifications
Minimum of 5 years of experience as a certified welder, or 2 years of experience as welder and a 2 year associates degree in welding technology, or a 4 year degree in welding engineering.
Minimum of 2 years of extensive experience as a field welding engineer / welding quality inspector, or welding superintendent in power plant, shipbuilding, or industrial process construction, maintenance, or manufacturing.
Experience working with, B31.1, B31.3, AWS D1.1, and ASME Sections I, VIII, and IX.
Must be able to physically perform the job duties, including walking, climbing stairs/ladders, see and hear within legal limits.
Experience with evaluation and resolution development of welding related project and code issues
Must have good computer and writing skills.

Desired/Preferred Qualifications
Certified Welding Inspector.
Knowledge and experience with field machining and / or precision measurements for the installation of piping and equipment.
Knowledge and experience with PWHT
